Hi, I'm Samantha, an RCVS-registered veterinary surgeon and Official Veterinarian (OV) based in the UK, specialising in pet travel certification.
I founded Vet Pet Biz to provide a dedicated, stress-free service for pet owners preparing to travel abroad with their animals. Whether you're taking your dog on holiday to Europe or relocating your cat overseas, I’m here to ensure your paperwork is accurate, compliant, and issued with care.
With years of experience in clinical practice and additional OV training in animal export certification, I understand both the health and legal requirements involved in pet travel - and how confusing the process can sometimes feel.
At Vet Pet Biz, I focus solely on issuing Animal Health Certificates (AHCs) and Export Health Certificates (EHCs), as well as related documentation.
No distractions, no upselling - just straightforward, expert help from a qualified vet who knows the system inside out.
Please reach out to me samthevet@vetpetbiz.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I provide veterinary certification services to support safe and compliant pet travel, including:
The cost of the services varies depending on what documentation is needed and which country you are travelling to. All AHCs start at £99. Due to a recent increase in demand, all requests for travel 14 days or less will incur an additional £50 fee. I strive to provide affordable and competitive pricing, and I am more than happy to provide estimates upon request. The cost of EHCs vary greatly, so please enquire so I can provide you with an accurate quote.
Pricing includes a consultation, pet ID check, document verification, and issuing of the certificate. I also provide guidance on any country-specific travel requirements.
Clients are strongly advised to make contact at least 3–4 weeks prior to travel to allow sufficient time for document checks and coordination with their regular veterinary practice. Due to the time-sensitive nature of export documentation and the additional administrative work involved, all requests made 14 days or less before the intended travel date will incur a £50 short-notice processing fee, subject to availability.
I do my best to accommodate urgent requests. A priority fee may apply depending on availability and certificate type. It is always recommended to start the process as early as possible. This is always subject to availability.
Yes - home visits are available in certain areas for an additional fee (prices dependent on area). This can be especially helpful for multi-pet households or clients with limited transport.
At the moment, UK-issued pet passports are no longer valid for travel to the EU, and the AHC document has replaced these. If your pet holds an EU-issued pet passport, this will be valid for travel to the EU. There is a possibility that UK-issued pet passports may return in the future, but there hasn't been a release date yet.

Have a question or ready to book your pet’s travel certificate? I’d love to hear from you!
Please use the form above to send an enquiry. Include as much detail as possible (such as your pet’s species, travel date, and destination) so I can help you quickly and accurately. I aim to respond within 24-48 hours.
